THERMAL WOOD
Beech plywood panel with cork lightening insert and electric heating element.
It finds use in railway or shipbuilding as a structural walking element.
Supported by special elastic elements, it forms a floating system suitable for damping vibrations.
Its electrical resistance inserted between the wooden layers provides ideal thermal comfort in terms of both temperature distribution and energy efficiency.
Advantages over aluminum:
- Greater sound insulation (for the same thickness)
- Does not transmit vibrations
- Greater flexibility of modification (possible adjustments during installation and assembly)
- The bonding process is less critical
- More flexible, Better fatigue resistance
- Is electrically insulated
- More economical
Disadvantages compared with aluminum:
- Greater weight
- Not recyclable
